District 11 Bond Meeting
Saturday, November 8th, 10:00am
As you may know, the City of Fort Worth is considering a 2026 Bond Program which includes $511.5 million for street and mobility improvements. Beginning in July of 2024, the Advisory Board of the Sun Valley PID made repeated requests to the City that reconstruction of the streets within the PID be included in the bond program. So far, all our streets have been excluded.
Councilmember Martinez has advised us that the best way to change the response of the City is to attend and speak at the public bond meetings.
Our District 11 bond meeting will take place on Saturday, November 8th at 10:00am at Riverside Community Center, 3700 Belknap.
Speaking Tips:
Below are some suggested talking points. We request that you choose 2 of these talking points to respectfully share at the meeting and also share one point of your personal experience with the deteriorating roads in Sun Valley.
-
The street deterioration in this area is severe and continuing. Of the 7 streets in our District, engineering rated 5 roads as Poor and 1 road as Very Poor. The state of the roads in the district has reached such a poor state that companies are unfortunately talking about leaving South East Fort Worth.
-
The decision to exclude Sun Valley Streets was based on overstated cost assumptions driven by a combination of inappropriate design criteria and an all or nothing approach. We are requesting a phased approach that includes some portion of our streets in this bond program.
-
The City has no alternatives to reconstruction.
-
The two maintenance programs the City proposed as alternatives to reconstruction have now been confirmed by City staff as inapplicable due to the advanced deterioration of the streets and the lack of viable stormwater outfalls.
-
Home to more than 150 businesses, 4,500 jobs, and $15 million in annual tax revenue, Sun Valley continues to be a strong partner to the City through its high-assessed PID, FWPD Commercial Crime Watch program, funded security and surveillance initiatives, police substation donation, and multiple public-private partnerships.

Your attendance at the bond meeting is critical to the inclusion of Sun Valley streets in the bond program. If you have any questions about the attached letter or developing your talking points, please contact the PID Manager at chelsea@cp2consultants.com
